11K units of the Jeep Compass will be part of the recall which will see the refreshing of the PCM software to correct possible emission non-compliance.
FCA India has issued a recall for its compact SUV in India. A total of 11K units of this vehicle will be affected in the same. The American automobile manufacturer has issued this recall in order to update the Powertrain Control Module’s software. This is done in order to correct the possible non- compliance with emission regulations the current software maybe causing.
Under this recall, only the 2WD diesel variants of the Jeep Compass will be affected. This recalls does not include the petrol powered or the 4WD diesel powered variants of this compact SUV. The affected models include cars manufactured between December 18, 2017, to November 30, 2018. The automaker will start recalling the affected vehicles starting from March 2019.

In addition to recalling and subsequently updating the affected models, FCA india will also update the vehicles which are currently present in the dealer inventory. The company has said that this recall is not a safety-related recall.
The Compass has been the most successful product for the brand FCA in the Indian market. It was launched in India in July 2017 and still manages to garner decent sales numbers each month. The prices for the Jeep Compass falls in-between the range of INR 15.40 lakh and INR 22.90 lakh. Its primary competition includes the likes of Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson and Mahindra XUV5OO.

The Jeep Compass is available in India in a total of two engine options. On is a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. This unit is capable of churning out 160 BHP of power along with 250 NM of peak torque.
