Bajaj Pulsar has set a new record for its monthly sales. The manufacturer has sold 1 Lakh units of all Pulsar models in March 2019.

Bajaj Auto is riding high on the success of Pulsar, its most popular motorcycle series. For the month of March 2019, a total of 1 Lakh Pulsars were sold in India, making a new sales record.

The domestic sales have increased for this month, whereas the exports have gone down. The country sales have risen up by 39% in March 2019, from 1,58,987 units in March 2018 to 2,20,013 units.

For the previous month, Bajaj has recorded an average of 20% growth in sales, including the commercial vehicles business as well. Since 2001, this is the first time that Bajaj Pulsar has crossed the 1 Lakh unit mark.

The sales report for each model has not been disclosed by the manufacturer. Bajaj Pulsar 150 is the best selling in the series, and not only that, the highest selling motorcycle from the company.

The primary reason for Pulsar series to achieve this record is because of its competitive pricing and fuel efficient engines. The engine capacities range from 150cc to 220cc.

The Bajaj Pulsar lineup includes Pulsar 150, NS160, 180, 180F, NS200, RS200 and 220F. NS bikes are naked streetbikes and RS200 is a fully faired sportsbike. The 180F and 220F get a semi front-fairing.

Bajaj has been trying to update the Pulsars regularly by offering minor upgrades like new graphics, a slightly revised styling and ofcourse, inclusion of ABS. In the past few years, nothing much has changed in the Pulsar range.

Reportedly, a new Bajaj Pulsar 250 is also under development. It will use KTM Duke 250’s engine in a detuned manner, just like the NS200 and RS200. Although, we are not sure if the upcoming motorcycle will join the NS gang or RS gang.

By the festive season this year, Bajaj is also launching the Husqvarna motorcycles in India. KTM is a promoter of the Swedish two-wheeler manufacturer. Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 will be launched in India.

With years to come, we expect the sales of Bajaj Pulsar to remain intact. We can see new Pulsars in the coming years, but they will always carry their grunty yet frugal engine.
