Finally, we have some big news on the Suzuki Gixxer 250 SF. The upcoming sportsbike is set to be launched on 20th May. Ahead of the launch, the specifications and a photo of the bike have been leaked.
Suzuki will be launching only the fully faired version of the bike, right now. There are no reports of the naked street version launching anytime soon.
The Gixxer 250 uses a 249cc oil-cooled SOHC fuel injected engine, that produces 26.5 BHP at 9000 RPM and 22.6 Nm of torque at 7500 RPM. The motor will come mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and a swingarm mono suspension at the back. For braking, it uses disc brakes at both the ends, with dual-channel ABS as standard.
A good thing is that the Suzuki Gixxer 250 will use 17-inch radial tires at both the ends. It tips the scales at 161 kgs,which is still lightweight. The fuel tank capacity stands at 12 Litres.
Talking about its design, the Gixxer 250 seems to be inspired by the bigger GSX-1000F. The handlebars seem to clip-on units with a low height, for an aggressive riding position.
The bike will use LED headlamps at the front, a new digital instrument console, LED tail lamps, ABS, step-up seats and dual-exhaust port. The design of the alloy wheels is also refreshed.

Now, only the pricing details and a clear image of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 is left. A spy shot of the bike will be leaked ahead of the launch. We expect it to be priced near Rs 1.3 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
It will go against Yamaha R15 V3, Yamaha Fazer25 and Bajaj Pulsar RS200. It will also compete with KTM Duke 200 and Yamaha MT-15.
