MG Hector spied days before its launch on 15th May

MG Hector features first in class features like a large panoramic sunroof and e-SIM technology.

MG Motors will launch its first premium SUV, Hector, on 15th May and its already seen on Indian roads. The spy shots here are of a bright red shade and the car looks majestic in its appearance. The SUV has been doing the rounds on the internet for quite some time now and on 15th May it will be officially launched by the company thus revealing all the details you need.

MG Hector has a split design headlamp design, with LED DRL’s on the top and LED headlights positioned below the front bumper. The front looks dominating as it packs a large chrome-mesh front grille which bears a large ‘MG’ logo.

The car gets silver cladding on the front as well as rear bumpers. MG Hector rear looks are completed by a large reflector connecting the tail lights. The car gets 17″ diamond cut alloy wheels which looks better than we see on Tata Harrier.

The picture which can be seen from top features a panoramic sunroof which is the first in class. It offers a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system which will offer both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. MG Hector is a connected SUV which features an eSIM technology.

Initially, the SUV will be sold in a 5-seat layout and later we can expect a 7-seat layout too. One can expect a feature loaded cabin jumping to the top of the line trim of MG Hector. The car is expected to get Harman-infinity audio system, six-way power adjustable driver seats, 360-degree camera, Tyre-pressure monitoring system, keyless entry, push-button start and others.

MG Hector will be available in 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, generating 142bhp of power with 250Nm of peak torque and a 2.0-litre FCA sourced diesel engine generating 174bhp of power with 350Nm of peak torque.

Once launched, the car will compete with the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and Jeep Compass. It is expected to fall into the price range of Rs 15-20 lakh (ex-showroom).
