Peugeot has been spotted testing the E-Ludix electric scooter spotted testing in India. It has a range of 50km, top speed of 45kph and weighs just 85 kgs.

Peugeot’s E-Ludix electric scooter has been spotted testing in India. This French automaker first showcased the E-Ludix electric scooter at the Paris Motor Show last year. Peugeot, which is now a Mahindra subsidiary, also made an announcement at the motor show of introducing a new electric two-wheeler every year.

With the automobile taking a paradigm shift towards electric mobility, this quirky little scooter from Peugeot gives the brand the perfect opportunity to explore newer markets. The Peugeot E-Ludix electric scooter uses a 3kW electric motor which has been positioned right in the middle of the scooter. It also sits quite low, giving the scooter a low center of gravity and a good sense of balance.

There’s a portable lithium-ion battery from Boschย which only weighs 9 kg and can be fully charged in just three hours using an external charger. The battery is also capable of charging through regenerative braking, something that has not been seen in any electric scooter in India. The Peugeot E-Ludix electric scooter has a top speed of 45 kph and a range of about 50 km. Yes, the figures are quite low but that should be sufficient for your daily city runabouts.

The E-Ludix electric scooter has a kerb weight of just 85 kgs. The minimalistic approach to design and small dimensions are what largely contributes to such a weight. However, weight saving did not come at the cost of less features. It gets a fully digital instrument console, projector headlamps, motorcycle-type switchgear, upside-down front forks and a disc brake up front with a single-pot caliper. However, the seat might be a little too compact for a pillion rider.

The big question is whether it will come to India, right? Most likely, not. It might be that Peugeot is just testing the electric scooter in our climatic conditions to test the capabilities of the scooter before launching in various international markets.
