The 2020 Land Rover Defender has finally been seen without its pre-production livery and that too on the sets of ‘No time to Die’, the latest James Bond movie in the line.
Land Rover has been developing the 2020 Defender for a long time now and it is finally going to be unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, before its official debut, the 2020 Land Rover Defender has been spotted undisguised for the first time. And guess where? It was spotted on the sets of ‘No Time to Die’ – the latest instalment in the James Bond film series.
The 2020 Land Rover Defender comes with a completely new face. It retains its iconic boxy and upright stance with a tall nose but looks absolutely fresh and modern. The spotted Defender shown in the image had a number of off-road-specific modifications including a bumper-mounted winch, chunky off-road tyres and a protective chequer plate on the wings.
The spotted test mule was also sitting a little higher than the prototypes seen earlier, suggesting the fitment of an aftermarket off-road suspension kit. However, these modification could be specifically be for the film. The Defender is seen wearing a thick layer of mud – being true to its character – but it still reveals a lot of details about the design. It gets new headlight clusters, a completely new grille design and a very chunky looking bumper with big air intakes.

Some time ago, we had reported about the dimensions and different body styles that the 2020 Defender would be available in. According to the information that was doing rounds on the internet then, the new Defender would come in three different lenghts. These include a three-door 90 version, a five-door 110 version and a larger five-door 130 version. All of them will come with different seating configurations, the 90 being offered as a five- or six-seater, the 110 coming as five-, six- and seven-seater, while the largest 130 being offered only as an eight-seater.

Land Rover themselves released some image of the Defender prototype last month being tested on the sand dunes and highways of Dubai. The Defender was also seen testing at the Tusk Trust’s 1.4 lakh sq m reserve in Kenya.
