A more off-road focused version of Hero Xpulse 200 might launch too

Fresh reports suggest that a more hardcore version of the Hero Xpulse 200 will be available later. Recently, spy shots of 2 different models had come up.

Hero Xpulse 200 and 200T are most likely to make a debut in India by the end of April. While the 200T is the road-biased tourer, the other one is built for some mild off-roading.

Now, reports suggest that sometime later after the launch, Hero might launch a more off-road focused version of the Xpulse 200. It will follow a more hardcore design and get better off-roading equipment.

Recently, we spotted Hero XPulse 200 and an another model testing off-roading at some adventure zone. The mystery bike looked exactly like an even more hardcore off-roading bike.

For starters, the new model gets knobby off-road spec tires. The suspension travel in this bike is higher than that on Hero Xpulse 200. Some styling bits have also been revised to display an overall dirt-bike look.

We expect the seat height to be a bit taller and offer less space for the pillion. While the exact details remain unknown, but it definitely looks more built for the purpose of off-roading.

The 200cc engine from Xtreme will be retained on the more hardcore Xpulse 200. However, we expect a bigger sprocket setup for aiding the off-roading performance.

The 199.5cc air-cooled carburettor engine produces 18.7 BHP and 17 Nm of peak torque, with the engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. However, the Hero Xpulse 200 will receive liquid-cooling and Fuel injection system.

Since the Xpulse 200 is meant for off-roading, we expect the the engine to get some revision. More torque will be available in this bike, especially at the lower end.

For suspension purposes, it will come equipped with telescopic forks with rubber gaiters at the front and Swing arm suspension with a monoshock at the back. Braking will be handled by disc brakes at both the ends paired with Single-ABS.

We expect the bikes to be priced between Rs 1-1.2 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). Hero Motocorp had earlier confirmed that they will try to place most of their bikes near the Rs 1 Lakh.
