Anand Mahindra tells a Twitter user that he could get fired if he reveals the date of launch for the new-gen Scorpio. The new Scorpio is arguably the most anticipated SUV this year. It is an iconic product in our market and has been for years. In its latest iteration, Mahindra is planning to induce some modern elements into it to make it look like a car that belongs to the modern age. According to the spy shots and testing videos, it looks like Mahindra will not compromise on its capabilities and the SUV will continue to be rugged.

Anand Mahindra Can’t Reveal Launch Date of Scorpio
With over 9.2 Twitter followers, Anand Mahindra keeps engaging with the users on various issues. This time around, a user (Inc project makers) asked him the launch date of Scorpio. To this, he replied that he could get fired if he reveals that. He adds that he is very excited about the launch just like a ton of potential car buyers are. There have been quite a few spy images revealing the silhouette of the SUV along with a glimpse into the cabin of the upcoming Scorpio. While it still remains practical and utilitarian, there are the latest tech features and functions to enhance the convenience of the passengers. The exterior is also bound to see fresh bits to establish a contemporary image.

While the official specifications will be revealed closer to the launch, the Scorpio is expected to come powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that might be tuned to produce 130 hp and a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol engine that produces 150 hp. These engines are similar to the ones powering the new Thar. The transmission duties would be carried by a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The current prices of the Scorpio range between Rs 13.18 lakh and Rs 18.21 lakh, ex-showroom. The new version will most likely feature a slight premium over these prices.
