A youtube video of the first ride review of upcoming Bajaj Dominar 250 has come up. The motorcycle is going to be launched in the coming weeks.

Bajaj is finally going to launch the Dominar 250 this month. Based on Duke 250, it uses the same engine and also borrows most of its components from the bigger Dominar 400. Here is the first ride review of the new Bajaj Dominar 250, in a video.

As you can see, the reviewer has done most of his riding in the city traffic. He has managed to explain the in-city acceleration, braking, suspension and handling. As of now, the bookings for the bike have commenced across dealerships and many of them, have already started receiving it too.

First, he has talked about the refinement of the engine, which seems good and even better than Dominar 400. The bike gives no vibrations under 3500 RPM, after which slight vibrations can be felt on the handlebar. Once it crosses 5,000 RPM, they can be felt under the seat as well.

The reviewer has talked about the acceleration and seems pretty impressed with that. Bajaj Dominar 250 gets a 248.6cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, that produces 27 PS at 8500 RPM and 24.5 Nm of peak torque at 6500 RPM. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

The handling of the motorcycle is also satisfactory despite it weighing about 180 kgs. The reviewer has compared the handling with Pulsar RS 200 and says it is better than that. He has also checked out the turning radius of Dominar, which he seems lower than RS 200.

The clutch of the bike is light but the gear engagement or shifting is a bit heavy. The suspension setup, as per him, manages to soak up most of the potholes. For braking, it uses front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. The bite of the front brake is very good but that of the rear brake is not up to the mark.

Talking about the specifications, the bike uses box swingarm instead of the aluminium swingarm on Dominar 400. The suspension is handled by upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. The same setup is seen on Dominar 400.

Our dealership sources have suggested that the bike will be priced a bit more than Rs 1.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom). It will compete with the likes of KTM Duke 200, Suzuki Gixxer 250, Jawa Forty Two and Mahindra Mojo.
