This is great news for all those who are willing to take the plunge to test out electric cars. Needless to mention, there are a lot of people who would at least want to get their hands on an EV but the price constraints are holding them back. Additionally, the actual cost of ownership (COE) of a car in Singapore is among the highest in the world. Moreover, fuel prices are on a rise globally too. Hence, maintaining and driving a car every day has become expensive when compared to even a couple of years ago.

BlueSG feels that it will take some getting used to while driving EVs. Hence, going for the monthly subscription models and rental services could be a great way to test the waters before going all out to own one. That is where car-sharing helps. It will ensure that people get used to the idiosyncrasies of electric cars like various driving modes which restrict power to maximize range and regenerative braking which brakes the EVs when the driver lifts off the accelerator pedal. All in all, BlueSG is excited to see where the industry heads after which there can be the addition of high-end cars like Tesla as well.
