The BMW i7 electric sedan has achieved an impressive milestone of 1,000 sales in India since its debut back in 2023. We know that BMW makes some of the most tech-savvy and performance-focused products on the planet. The i7 is its flagship electric sedan in India. Therefore, it is understandable that the cabin is loaded with the latest tech, top-notch materials and tons of active and passive safety amenities, in addition to offering an exhilarating performance. For now, let us take a look at the details here.
BMW i7 Achieves 1,000 Sales
With the current price tag between Rs 2.05 Crore and 2.58 Crore, ex-showroom, it is obvious that only the top elites of the society can afford it. In fact, we have seen it in the garages of many top celebrities from Bollywood, Cricket and Business. Some of the major in-cabin highlights include Luxurious lounge atmosphere in the interior with individual My Modes, Cinema experience on 31.3-inch 8K Resolution Theatre Screen with Amazon FireTV Built-in the rear passenger compartment, Sky Lounge Panoramic Glass Sunroof, Curved Display, handcrafted materials, rear doors with integrated touchscreens, Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system with 35 tweeters for a 4D experience, and much more.
Under its long and voluptuous hood, there is a powerful electric powertrain to propel the EV. The BMW i7 carries a colossal 101.7 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers a dual-motor system for an all-wheel-drive configuration. This results in a healthy 544 hp and 745 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. This configuration enables a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 4.7 seconds. Furthermore, BMW claims a range between 591 km and 625 km on a single charge, which is decent for most scenarios.

Selling over 1,000 units of the BMW i7 in India clearly shows how rapidly acceptance for ultra-luxury EVs is growing at the very top end of the market. From my perspective, this success isn’t just about electrification, it’s about BMW delivering a no-compromise flagship that matches, and in some areas exceeds, traditional ICE luxury sedans. The i7’s tech-heavy rear-seat focus aligns perfectly with how India’s luxury buyers prefer to be chauffeured. This milestone underlines that for the right product, price is no longer a barrier in India’s evolving luxury EV space.
