As we see, Hyundai has finally introduced the Asta AMT on Santro, which now comes for Rs 6.25 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The price is actually a bit steep because, by just paying Rs 10,000 extra, you can opt for Grand i10 Nios Magna AMT.

BS-6 Hyundai Santro continues with the same power figures on its 1.1 Litre petrol engine. The motor is capable of producing 69 BHP and 99 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

Santro is the most feature equipped in its segment till now. Highlights include a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Voice Recognition, Reverse Parking Sensors with a camera, steering-mounted audio controls, dual front airbags (only on Asta), electrical adjust for side mirrors and much more.

While Maruti WagonR is already BS-6 compliant, Santro’s other rivals like Tata Tiago, Renault Kwid and Datsun GO are yet to receive. Santro is still the priciest in the segment but if you consider the Tiago JTP, that’s the costliest compact hatchback.
