BS6 2020 Tata Harrier Revealed; Now Gets A 6-speed Automatic

Tata has officially revealed the 2020 Harrier which now gets a BS6 compliant diesel engine, new features and finally, a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Amidst all the hustle of the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata has finally revealed the BS6 2020 Harrier. The SUV gets minor styling tweaks, more powerful BS6 compliant engine, new features and the much-awaited, automatic gearbox.

Tata has commenced the bookings for BS6 2020 Harrier for Rs 30,000. The SUV will soon start reaching dealerships along with its price announcement. With this, Tata Motors has completed its BS6 transition successfully.

2020 Tata Harrier continues with the same 2.0 Litre Kyrotec turbo diesel engine. However, the SUV now produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. That’s 30 PS more than the previous version. Transmission options include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter AT.

New features onboard include three driving modes, traction control, ESP, Hill Descent Control, Manual Shift Mode, Panoramic Sunroof, auto-dimming IRVMs and electric seat height adjustment. There’s also 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harmon, semi-digital instrument console, cruise control and more.

Design changes include dual-tone colour options and new design for the alloy wheels. Also, now, the alloys are bigger, at 18-inch. Thankfully, the 2020 Harrier also comes with the Dark Edition. New colours include Calypso Red, Orcus White, Sparkling Cocoa and Telesto Grey. The dual-tone colours include Red and White with Glossy Black roof.

Further, there are two new variants the XZ+ and XZA+. Tata Harrier Automatic comes on three variants – XMA, XZA and XZA+. Most of the new features are available on the top-end variants.

The prices have not been revealed as of now. Tata might announce the prices at the 2020 Auto Expo. We expect the prices to increase by Rs 40,000-50,000, from its current range of Rs 13.43 Lakhs to Rs 17.30 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
