The BS6 Maruti Suzuki Celerio has a starting price of Rs. 4.41 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 5.67 lakhs for the top-spec AMT variant. It remains unchanged other than the BS6 compliant engine.

With the BS6 emissions norms deadline approaching soon from April, 2020, all manufacturers are gearing up with a slew of BS6 launches. Maruti Suzuki has now launched the BS6 compliant version of the Celerio. The BS6 complaint Maruti Suzuki Celerio has a starting price of Rs 4.41 lakh for the base LXi variant going up to Rs 5.67 lakhs for the top-spec ZXi (O) AMT.ย

With the BS6 upgrade, the Celerio thus sees a premium of around Rs 15,000 to Rs 24,000 over the BS4-compliant models. With this, Maruti Suzuki has almost updated their entire range of vehicles to comply with the upcoming BS6 norms which come into effect from April 1, 2020. Now, only the Celerio X, the Ignis and the Alto K10 are left to be updated with the upcoming BS6 norms.

The Celerio remains identical to the BS4-spec model mechanically. It continues to be powered by the same 998cc, three-cylinder petrol engine which is good for producing 68hp and 90Nm of torque. The engine is of course now BS6 compliant and like we have seen with other BS6 cars, the Celerio is expected to see some drop in fuel efficiency as well. The engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox.

Other than a BS6 complaint engine, the Celerio remains absolutely unchanged on the styling and features front. There are no changes on the safety front either, as the Celerio was updated last year (in order to comply with theย ย new safety norms) and received ABS with EBD, a speed alert system, and rear parking sensors as standard. In terms of competition, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio rivals theย Hyundai Santro,ย Maruti Suzuki Wagon R,ย Datsun Goย and soon to be launchedย Tata Tiago facelift.ย  ย
