BS6 Tata Hexa Safari Edition To Debut At The 2020 Auto Expo

Tata Motors has teased the upcoming Hexa Safari Edition, which will debut at the 2020 Auto Expo, with a BS6 compliant diesel engine.

Tata has put out a teaser image that says Hexa Safari Editon, Coming Soon. Earlier, Tata had issued a statement confirming that Hexa will not be discontinued. The latest teaser confirms that the rough-tough SUV will pass the emission norms.

2020 Tata Hexa will now get a new Safari Edition. We are expecting Tata to introduce it at the Auto Expo, with a BS6 compliant diesel engine. Hexa is the last car in the Tata lineup to get a BS6 compliant engine.

2020 Tata Hexa Safari Edition will get cosmetic tweaks, a compliant engine and some new features too. The new features could come in from the 2020 Harrier and the Nexon Facelift. Further details will be revealed on 5th February, at the Expo.

Currently, it uses a 2.2 Litre four-cylinder diesel engine that comes in two states of tune, for the lower and the higher variants. In one state, it produces 148 BHP and 320 Nm of peak torque. In the higher state of tune, the engine produces 154 BHP and 400 Nm of peak torque.

Also, it is the most affordable Rear-Wheel-Drive (RWD) car in the Indian market. The transmission options will include the same 5-speed MT for base-spec variants, a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT available on the range-topping variants.

Earlier, Tata Hexa was reported to be discontinued because of poor sales. Also, with the launch of Tata Gravitas, it was believed that Hexa will soon disappear from the market. The MPV-style SUV is a well-built machine that is also ready for some mild off-roading.

Currently, it is the flagship product of Tata Motors, costing a bit more than Harrier as well. With the facelift and BS6 diesel engine, the prices will further increase by a Lakh. Its current price starts at Rs Rs. 12.99 lakh to Rs. 18.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
