KTM 390 Adventure

A YouTuber has shared the video of the first crash that involved two KTM 390 Adventure. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 2.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

KTM launched the 390 Adventure in January 2020 for a price of Rs 2.99 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). Its deliveries have commenced already but we are still waiting for the exact sales numbers of the motorcycle for the month of February.

KTM 390 Adventure is a dual-purpose motorcycle, built for off-roading as well as long-distance touring. One such video has come up where you can see two KTM 390 Adventure motorcycles trying off-roading on barren land. See what unfolds next.

As you can see, one of the motorcycles left out to try the jump on the patch ahead. While the second one was gearing up, the first one came back and crashed his motorcycle. Looks like the guy who crashed the bike was going at around 40 km/hr and couldn’t control it. Both the bikes seem to have taken damage on the front portion, the second one got a broken footpeg as well.

KTM 390 Adventure is based on the Duke 390, using the same frame, engine and other components. It uses the same 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 43bhp @ 9,000rpm and 37Nm @ 7,000rpm mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed MT and a bi-directional quick-shifter.

The suspension setup is also the same as that of the Duke. 390 ADV uses 43mm USD forks at the front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the back. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. At the front, it uses 100/90-19 tyres at the front and 130/80-17 tyres at back, both Metzeler Tourance.

To enhance the riding experience, 390 Adventure gets Supermoto mode which disengages the ABS and traction control. Other bits on the bike include a colour TFT screen with Bluetooth and navigation, LED headlamps, alloy wheels and the quick-shifter.

390 Adventure competes with the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS and Kawasaki Versys X 300. The latter two are costlier than KTM however, Himalayan is nearly a Lakh cheaper. And if you want an off-roader under a Lakh, you have the Hero Xpulse 200.
