First Impressions of Hyundai Creta

It is on the front fascia that we would witness comprehensive changes. The front grille of the new Creta might follow the design theme of the Creta that is shown in the international markets. Hyundai calls this pattern the Parametric Grille with integrated LED DRLs on either side neatly integrated into the grille, the bi-projector headlamps are positioned on either side of the bumper like on the current model along with the turn indicators, the bumpers might be slightly reshaped to distinguish it from the current-gen model. Apart from the front, the side and rear profiles are likely to remain largely identical to the outgoing model.

Interior and Features

Compared to the current-gen model, the cabin layout of the facelifted version would bear a ton of similarities. The large touchscreen infotainment display and digital instrument cluster could be carried over, the interior features like wireless smartphone connectivity, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, dashboard design, etc would remain unchanged. But the massive change to this version would be the introduction of ADAS functions. This would incorporate features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot detection, and the like.

Specs

The powertrain options on the facelifted Creta are likely to remain unchanged. This implies that the SUV will come with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 115 PS and 145 Nm of peak torque, a diesel engine is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit that also produces 115 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque and an exciting 1.4-litre turbo-petrol T-GDI engine that produces 143 PS and 242 Nm and comes with a 7-speed DCT. The 6-speed manual CVT automatic transmission options are available as well. The prices of the Creta currently range between Rs 10.23 lakh and Rs 17.94 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelifted version would command a slight premium over these prices.
