Harley Davidson street 750

Harley Davidson Street 750 units manufactured after 2016 have been called for an inspection. The recall has been done regarding faulty brake callipers.

Harley Davidson India has silently recalled Street 750s manufactured after 2016. The owners have been notified through a message, who are asked to get their bikes checked.

The reason listed for recall is faulty brake callipers. Globally, around 44,000 units of Harley Davidson Street 750 and 500 have been affected by this mechanical issue.

The company has stated that the brake calliper piston bores can corrode quickly. As a result of which, the drag of the brakes will increase. This can possibly lead to unstability of the bike, causing an accident.

The said problem was earlier reported by many Harley Davidson Street 750 buyers. However, at that time, the problem was not severe. The units manufactured before 2016 remain unaffected.

If the faulty brake callipers are detected, they will be repaired free of cost. In 2015, units of the same bike were recalled for a faulty seal in the fuel pump.

Harley Davidson Street 750 is the most-affordable cruiser from the Milwaukee-based two-wheeler brand. It is priced at Rs 5.63 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

The entry-level HD cruiser comes with a 749cc liquid-cooled V-Twin engine that puts out 47.6 BHP and 59 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

For safety purposes, the bike uses front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS. Suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and twin-shock absorbers at the back.

A recent report suggests that Street 750 is the most sold big bike for 2018. Royal Enfield 650 Twins came at the 2nd psotion, which might soon see a higher sales figure.
