Heroย Duet Scooter spied at a dealership
Hero MotoCorpย seems to have an aggressive strategy in place for the scooter segment in India with new products ready for launch. One of these new products is the Hero Duetย scooter that wasย unveiled at an event in Gurgaon earlier this month. In the scooter segment, Honda leads former JV partner Hero by quite some margin , which is thanks to the Activa – the highest selling two wheeler in India currently. Hero is currently India’s largest selling two wheeler manufacturer andย has already announced its plans of bringing in as many as 15 new models to itsย product portfolioย in 2015. Powering the Hero Duetย automatic scooter is Hero’s first-ever homegrown engine. This motor displaces 110.9 ccย and has a max. power of 8.43 PS at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 8.3 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Thisย single-pot, air-cooled petrol motor comes mated toย a CVT. Expect competitive, if not class leading, mileage figures of around 60 kpl.

As far as the exteriors of the new Duet scooter are concerned, we a see a top mounted headlamp unit flanked by the turn indicators. The whole setup closely resembles that of the Honda Activa. There is also some chrome embellishments on the front and sides of the scooter. The rear tail lamp portion looks very striking.
