Hero MotoCorp had launched its new identity back in London a few months back with a logo and two products. The products were a 110 CC gearless scooter Hero Maestro and an on-off road 150 CC motorcycle Hero Impulse. The bike has not been spotted even once in India in public until recently when one of the bike enthusiast managed to click some amazing close up pictures of the bike.
The bike is an India specific modified version of the very popular Honda NXR 150 Bros which is a successful product in Brazilian market and since as per reports there are no modifications on the technical end, we assume that the bike is similar to the Bros.

Impulse will come with a 149.2cc OHC, single cylinder, 4 stroke, air cooled engine capable of producing 13.8 BHP @ 8,000 RPM of maximum power and maximum torque of 13.6 Nm at 6,000 RPM. The engine will be coupled with a 5 speed gearbox. The fuel tank capacity will be around 12 liters along with 2.3 liters as reserve. The suspension of the bike will be telescopic fork at the front while a monoshock at the rear with 180 mm and 150 mm of stroke respectively.

Visually it resembles a dirt bike since it is loaded with similar features like knuckle guards, high mount exhaust muffler, raised fenders, straight pull spokes and motocross seat. Being a next-gen Bros it will have digital instrument cluster with clock, digital vertical bar display fuel gauge and “Service Due” indicator, though the appearance and positioning is not much appealing. Available colours will include Black, Vibrant Blue Metallic, Sports Red, Leaf Green Metallic and Vibrant Orange.

Now that the bike has been caught I believe that it could be showcased in the 2012 Auto Expo. So stay tuned for more updates on the Impulse.
