Honda Activa 125, Activa 6G and the new Dio have been recalled due to an important issue. Check out if your scooter has been affected by it.

Honda has issued an important recall for certain units of Activa 6G, Activa 125 and the new Dio. The company has confirmed a defect in the quality of rear cushion, which might lead to oil leakage as well as breakage of the complete component.

Scooters manufactured between 14th February to 25th February are affected by this problem. The dealerships will soon start notifying the concerned customers via message or call. If the problem is found, it will be rectified completely free of cost at that time itself.

Interestingly, this is the second official recall for the Honda Activa 125. A couple of weeks back, it was recalled for faulty engine cooling cover. The Activa 6G was launched on January 15 and the Dio was launched just a month back on 11th February. BS6 Activa 125 was launched last year itself.

Activa 6G and Dio get a completely revised 110cc engine which also gets fuel injection as standard. On both the scooters, the engine now produces 7.79 BHP and 8.79 Nm of peak torque. In comparison to the BS4 engine, the power figures are lower by a small number.

Both the scooters also get new features and significant cosmetic upgrades. As for Dio, it gets new colour options, reshaped body panels and sharper LED headlamp. Further, it gets a fully digital instrument cluster with average fuel efficiency, external fuel filler cap, engine start-stop switch and high/low beam pass switch.

As for the Activa 6G, it also gets similar features but a semi-digital cluster with a digital readout showing average mileage, riding range and other information. The biggest upgrade that comes on the Activa and Dio is telescopic forks in the front, replacing the age-old hydraulic unit. At the back, both of them get a 3-step adjustable monoshock.
