In this post, we are comparing the Honda Activa e and the QC1 on the basis of specs, features and prices. The Indian automobile market has been experiencing sturdy growth in the EV space. This includes passenger cars, as well as two-wheelers. It certainly looks like the future of mobility is electric. As the industry transitions from ICE to electric, we see an increasing number of models emerging from top companies. The Activa e and QC1 are prime examples of that. Honda Activa e vs QC1 – Price

Let us commence with the price. We know that India is a price-sensitive market. Hence, this will play a crucial role in determining which product the customers will lean towards. The Honda Active e retails between Rs 1.17 lakh and Rs 1.52 lakh, ex-showroom. On the other hand, the QC1 is available in a single trim which retails for Rs 90,000, ex-showroom. Clearly, the latter has an advantage in this regard.

Honda Activa e vs QC1 – Specs and Features

The electric iteration of the iconic Honda Activa bears a unique set-up – it gets two 1.5 kWh battery packs which are swappable. However, these can’t be charged like a conventional electric scooter. The aim is to address the charging problems. In fact, the two-wheeler manufacturer says that it will work aggressively on expanding its battery swapping stations. The claimed range with this configuration is a decent 102 km. Furthermore, the electric scooter uses a telescopic front suspension, a monoshock rear suspension, a disc brake at the front, keyless ignition, alloy wheels, a TFT instrument cluster with connectivity options, 3 ride modes and a reverse mode.

On the other hand, the QC1 gets a single 1.5 kWh battery which gets charged like regular EVs. It takes 6 hours and 50 minutes to go from 0 to 100%. Also, this allows a range of 80 km on a single charge. There are two ride modes and the top speed is 50 km/h. Just like the QC1, the EV uses a telescopic front suspension, a monoshock rear suspension, alloy wheels, drum brakes at both ends, an LCD instrument cluster, 2 ride modes, 26-litre under-seat storage and 5 colour options. Both the scooters boast LED lighting.

My View

In essence, both these scooters offer unique propositions. Those who want the affordable package and are in agreement with charging the scooter regularly like EVs can opt for the Honda QC1. It offers great value for money. On the other hand, if you aren’t certain about the charging infrastructure and would want to opt for the battery-swapping technique, the Honda Activa e makes a lot of sense. Of course, you will need to shell out a considerably larger sum of money. All in all, there are use cases for both EVs.
