Honda Cars Sales Report Records 51.28% Decline For August

With the entire auto-industry falling, Honda Cars too has witnessed a drop in its sales report for the month of August.

India is at an all-time low for declining car sales and with many manufacturers reporting in losses, Japanese manufacturer Honda sales are dropping too. The carmaker sold about 8,291 units of passenger vehicles as compared to a whopping 17,020 in last year.

That said, Honda Cars witnessed a drop of 51.28% in its total domestic sales report for the month of August. Honda currently has Amaze, WR-V, City, Civic, BR-V, Jazz, CR-V and Accord. The Accord Hybrid is sold as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) imported from Thailand.ย

Commenting on the industry sales,ย Mr Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director-Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India Ltdย said,ย โ€œThe auto sector continues to witness high de-growth due to poor consumer sentiment. This is despite the high discounts prevailing in the market which makes it the best time to buy cars.

Furthermore, We hope the recent measures taken by the government will help in improving consumer sentiment and demand creation as we move forward. With the impending festive season, the sales for Honda cars are likely to pick-up in coming months.โ€

The companyโ€™s Augโ€™19 results are also on a higher base of Augโ€™18 when All New Amaze was in its early months after mega launch. The second generation Amaze doubled the sales of Honda in no time.

In other news, Maruti also witnessed a fall of 34.4% in domestic sales for August. The same goes for Hyundai too which reported 16.58% and Toyota sales dropped by 24%. Homegrown manufacturer, Tata Mahindra & Mahindra also dropped its all time low sales for 60% and 32% respectively.
