Honda CB300R confirmed for India; bookings begin at Rs 5,000

Honda CB300R neo sports cafe racer has been officially confirmed for India. The launch date is unknown but the prices will be under Rs 2.5 Lakhs.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India have confirmed the launch of CB300R for the Indian market. It is a neo-sports cafe racer, inspired by modern fits and finishes.

The bike will be available in India through the CKD route. The launch date remains unknown, however, the bookings for the same have begun at select Honda Wing World dealerships.

The exact prices are also not mentioned, but Honda themselves have confirmed it to be priced under Rs 2.5 Lakhs. That’s a very competitive pricing range as most of the 300cc and above motorcycles have a similar price.

Honda CB300R gets a compact 286cc DOHC liquid-cooled single cylinder engine. The engine puts out 31 BHP @ 8750 RPM and 27.5 Nm @ 7500 RPM of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The bike is inspired from the retro cafe racers but with modern touches. Neo Sports Cafe racer looks similar to naked street bikes, but are totally different from each other. This bike offers a dedicated riding position, because of its origins as a cafe racer.

For suspension purposes, the Honda CB300R uses 41mm light-weight inverted forks at the front and a single 7-step adjustable shock absorber at the back.

CB300R uses a 296mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the back. The brakes are paired with dual-channel ABS. The disc brakes get an ABS G-Sensor with an Inertial Measurement Unit, which allows proper distribution of ABS on both the front and rear end.

Features onboard include a fully digital instrument cluster with plenty of information, LED headlamps, LED tail lights, Dual-ABS and more.

Honda CB300R will be available in two colour options – Matte Axis Gray Metallic and Candy Chromosphere Red.

The motorcycle will compete with the likes of Jawa, Royal Enfield Classic 350, BMW G310R, KTM Duke 390 and upcoming Gixxer 250.
