Honda CB300R possible launch in February; deliveries to begin in April

Fresh reports say that Honda CB300R might be launched in India in February. The deliveries will begin in a phased manner, starting from April.

Bookings for the Honda CB300R have already begun at select Honda Wing World dealerships. Honda has officially confirmed that the neo-sports cafe racer is launching soon.

Fresh reports from Bikedekho reveals that the Honda CB300R will be officially launched in February. As per them, CKD units of the bike have already arrived in India. The assembling will commence when the bookings reach a considerable amount.

The deliveries for the Red colour variant will begin in April and that for the Black colour variant will begin in May. The bookings have begun at a token of Rs 5,000.

Honda CB300R is a neo-sports cafe racer which is already popular in the global markets. Honda might have bought it to India to get benefits from the growing 200-300cc motorcycle segment.

The India-spec CB300R looks similar the global-spec and also uses the same parts. The bike borrows its engine from the CB300F, which is a naked roadster available in global markets.

Honda CB300R gets a 286cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine. The engine is capable of delivering 31 BHP at 8750 RPM and 27.5 Nm at 7500 RPM. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch.

However, Honda has not cleared it that if the engine will be BS-6 compliant. Meanwhile, the engine is expected to be slightly retuned as per the Indian road conditions.

The bike gets 41mm light-weight inverted forks at the front and 7-step adjustable mono-shock at the back. For braking purposes, it uses a 296mm disc at front and a 220mm disc at the back with dual-channel ABS.

Honda has not confirmed the pricing range, but has given an expected pricing of under Rs 2.5 Lakhs, We expect the prices to be around Rs 2 Lakhs, probably Rs 2.2 Lakhs, for a stiff competition.

CB300R will most likely compete with KTM Duke 390, BMW G310R and the Royal Enfield 650 Twins. If the prices are near to Rs 2 Lakhs, it might also receive some sparks from Jawa, RE Classic 350 and KTM Duke 250.
