Honda CB300R

Honda CB300R is slated to launch in India soon. Here are some facts about the bike that you should know before buying or booking it.

Honda CB300R is a neo-sporty cafe racer. Basically, a new generation of the iconic cafe racers. The premium performance motorcycle is scheduled to launch in India soon this year.

Last year, we reported about CB300R about its patent being filed in India. It will be bought to India as a CKD unit to keep the costs low. The bookings for the bike have already begun at select Honda Wing World dealerships for Rs 5,000.

Launchย Date

Honda has confirmed that it will launch CB300R in India. However, they have not mentioned any specific date. Since the bookings have already begun for the same, we expect a shorter waiting period for the launch.

As per our expectations, the launch date is not far away. Honda CB300R might be launched within the next 2-3 months. Because it is a CKD unit, we suspect a larger time frame of 3 months.

Engine

Honda CB300R gets a 286cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine. The engine produces 31 BHP at 8750 RPM and 27.5 Nm at 7500 RPM of peak torque. The bike comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The 300cc engine is borrowed from the naked roadster, CB300F, which is available in the international markets. The India-spec engine has been slightly retuned for our road conditions.

Designย

Honda CB300R is a cafe-racer turned into a modern/neo sports racer. Modern fits and finishes over the body are the main highlights. It is known as a cafe racer because of its low-placed handlebars.

At the front, it gets round headlamp with LED lighting. Lots and lots of muscle creases can be seen over the body. The sculpted fuel tank and the silver brushed ‘CB’ inscription feel quite upmarket.

It gets split seats, with a step-up pillion seat. The large dual-tone chrome-grey look quite sporty. Completing the sporty racer look are the multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Honda has confirmed that CB300R will be priced under Rs 2.5 Lakhs for a tough competition. We expect a price of around Rs 2.2 Lakhs, which will bring it to a on-road price of around Rs 2.5 Lakhs or something.
