The deliveries of the Honda CBR650R have commenced across the countries. The middle-weight sportsbike is priced at Rs 7.70 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Honda recently launched two premium motorcycles in India, CB300R and CBR650R. With more to come, the manufacturer plans to make a solid move in the entry-level premium segment, which is trending these days.

The Honda CBR650R was launched in India last month, priced at Rs 7.70 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Replacing the CBR650F, the new model is inspired by the bigger CBR1000RR Fireblade.

The CBR will only retail through the brand’s Wing World dealership. It will also be sold through the recently opened BigWing dealership in Gurgaon.

Honda CBR650R uses a 649 cc in-line four-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 16-valve engine. The motor is tuned to deliver 88.4 BHP at 11500 RPM and 60 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist/slipper clutch.

The sportsbike is available in India via the CKD route. Grand Prix Red and Gun Powder Black Metallic are the two colour options offered.

For suspension, the CBR uses 41mm Showa USD forks and pre-load adjustable pro-link monoshock. Braking is taken care of by 310mm double discs with radially mounted Nissin callipers and a 240mm rear disc, with dual-ABS.

Full LED headlamps, LED tail lights, low-positioned clip-on handlebars and a fully digital LCD instrument console with gear position indicator and gear shift indicator are the main features on the CBR650R.

According to reports, the minimum waiting period for the bike right now is up to September for the Red colour. The other colour will be delivered to the buyer by the end of the month.

Honda CBR650R goes against the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 650, Suzuki GSX-S750 and Kawasaki Z900. All the four come in the same price range.
