Future Honda motorcycles could get a steering assist system, which basically is the power steering of a car. The design patents of the same have been leaked.

Earlier, some patents of Honda‘s Variable Valve Timing Technology (VVT) were leaked online. Upcoming bikes from the manufacturer will use VVT system to generate good revs or mid and high ranges for a better performance.

Now, we get some new patents of a steering assist system. Basically, it is the power steering that comes in a car. It is aimed to turn the bike easier, delivering a better steering action.

This system will come in premium Honda bikes, probably above 650cc bikes. For bikes with excess weight, a steering assist system could help in better maneouvring and handling as well.

Based on the patents, we can say the suspension setup is that of the Honda Goldwing. The flagship product might be the first one to get this system. A heavy bike like Goldwing will actually need this system. It also gets a reversing gear like a car.

The steering assist system will further help in saving space in the steering system of a motorcycle. It can also be used in three-wheelers or tricycles.

This system along with VVT technology might also come in Honda Fireblade. Most likely, both the tecnologies will be seen post-2020.
