Husqvarna VITPILEN 250 & SVARTPILEN 250

Husqvarna has commenced the sales of Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 with an introductory price of Rs 1.80 Lakhs. Bookings are now open at KTM dealerships.

Husqvarna now makes its India debut with the Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250. Both the motorcycles are priced at Rs 1.80 Lakhs (ex-showroom), around Rs 20,000 cheaper than the BS6 Duke 250. They are actually based on the Duke 250.

Husqvarna motorcycles will be sold through KTM dealerships. These are introductory prices and will increase once the sales pick up. As of now, there are 100 KTM dealerships across 45 cities which will increase up to 475 showrooms across 275 towns in the next five months.

Svartpilen 250 is a Scrambler-type roadster with dual-purpose tires and upright seating posture. On the other hand, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 is a cafe-racer with low placed clip-on handlebars and a dedicated riding posture.

The Husqies get a BS6 compliant 248.7cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, from Duke. The engine produces 30 PS at 9000 RPM and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7000 RPM. Engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Built on the same Steel Trellis frame, the Vitpilen and Svartpilen get 43mm WP APEX upside-down telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. Braking is handled by a 320mm front disc brake and a 230mm rear disc brake with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Features of Svartpilen 250 include LED headlamps, LED tail lights, 17-inch alloy wheels at both the ends, an upright single-piece handlebar and dual-purpose off-road friendly tires. Husqvarna Vitpilen gets clip-ons and road-spec radial tires instead.
