Ahead of launching the much awaited facelift, HMIL has launched the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition to maximize sales of the pre-facelift model

In its second generation now, the Hyundai Creta has been the best-selling C-SUV for many years now. However, with the influx of tech-laden rivals (read: Mahindra XUV700 and MG Astor), the popular compact SUV is no longer in the limelight. Thankfully, though, Hyundai Motor India Ltd is certainly not the one to rest on its laurels and will be launching the refreshed Creta and Alcazar later this year (read more HERE). However, before bringing the updated version, the carmaker has launched a special edition of the pre-facelift to make the most of the outgoing model. Dubbed Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, the new model has started reaching dealerships and is on sale at a starting price of Rs 13,51,200 (ex-showroom).

Hyundai Creta Knight Edition Features

The special edition features several visual updates that help it with a bolder look. The entire car has been finished in black, including the ‘Lightning Arc’ element on the C-pillar. Additionally, the grille, which sheds chrome in favour of the dark look, carries red highlights. In fact, the entire all-black theme has been taken so seriously that even the faux skid plates are in the same colour. Meanwhile, the alloy rims lose the dual-tone ‘diamond cut’ treatment are painted in dark grey, which is similar to what you find on the 1.4 Turbo variant.

Other highlights include a Knight Edition emblem on the tailgate, red-painted brake calipers and black-painted roof rails. For the uninitiated, the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine for the Creta outputs a maximum power of 115PS along with a 144Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a CVT (IVT in Hyundai speak). On the other hand, the oil-burner produces 115PS and 250Nm, while the transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque-converter auto ‘box.

Interior

While all the details of the interior are not available at this moment, there will be an all-black theme with red inserts. This will be similar to what you get on the Turbo variant. The full black upholstery will feature contrasting red stitching. Some red highlights will be even found on the dashboard. In terms of equipment, safely expect parity with the S and the SX(O) trims of the regular version.
