Launched last year, the second-generation Hyundai Creta is not only one of the most popular cars on sale in the country. In spite of being launched during the lockdown, the Creta was quick to garner a huge fan-following and even quicker with out-classing its own cousin, Kia Seltos. Today, we have got what are the first-ever pictures of the latest Creta in cop car livery. The vehicles you see in the images we have with us have been commissioned to serve in Ladakh police.

As you can see here, the Hyundai Creta vehicles for Ladakh police have been given full cop car livery with blue-red decals and even emergency phone numbers sticker onto the vehicle. While full details of the car aren’t available at this moment, it seems to be the SX variant. The same can be figured out through the alloy wheels. It’s also not known if the cars that have been procured by the Ladakh police are Diesel variants or petrol. However, a look at the images reveals that apart from the decals the only modification that the police-spec Creta has been given is the roof-mounted police beacon lights.

For the uninitiated, the Hyundai Creta has been on sale in as many as three engine variants – 1.5-litre turbo-diesel, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol. The diesel engine option comes with two transmission choices – a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, while the 1.5-litre petrol motor is available with a 6-speed manual and a CVT. The turbocharged petrol motor comes mated to a 7-speed DCT. The naturally aspirated petrol engine offers a maximum power of 115 PS and a peak torque of 144 Nm, while the diesel motor offers 115 PS and 250 Nm. The most powerful motor is the 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit, which benefits from direct injection and outputs a maximum power of 140 PS and a peak torque of 242 Nm.

Earlier this month, spy images of the mid-life facelift for the latest-get Hyundai Creta first emerged on the webspace. While this SUV is still some time away from getting its mid-cycle facelift, the spy images clearly show that work on the updated model is ongoing at full swing. The refreshed version will come with a revised fascia that will bring this SUV’s look in line with the latest-gen Tucson.
