Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Dimensions Comparison With Maruti Swift and Ford Figo

The Nios is expected to receive the same pair of engines as found in the regular Grand i10 and the upcoming hatchback is expected to be priced anywhere between Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Hyundai will launch the upcoming Grand i10 Nios on Aug 20 and the hatchback was unveiled in the video couple of days back. The car will sit between the ongoing Grand i10 and Elite i20. That said, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will be bigger on dimensions and it will surely offer more than the present one in the market.

To make the comparison of the dimensions easier for you, we have clubbed Hyundai Grand i10 Nios competition which is the Maruti Swift and Ford Figo. We have also listed out the on-ging Grand i10, just to see what the new model packs in. Let’s have a look.

Starting off the comparison with present gen Grand i10, the Nios is now longer by 40 mm and is 20 mm wider. Similarly, the wheelbase is increased by 25 mm, however, the car stands tall at 1,520 mm which is identical to the on-going model.

Meanwhile, Maruti Suzuki Swift which beat its competition in terms of sales measures 3,840 mm in length and 1,735 mm in width. When compared to the Nios, it is not only longer by 35 mm but is also wider by 55 mm. Similarly, the height is an addition by a mere 10mm and the wheelbase is identical to the Nios.

Talking about Ford Figo, the hatchback measures 3,941 mm in length, 1,704 mm in width, 1,525 mm in height and gets a wheelbase of 2,490 mm. The latter is more responsible for an airy cabin and thus provides a wide space for rear-seat passengers.

Now giving you some insights about the powertrain of the upcoming Nios then it is expected to get the same engines found in the regular Grand i10. The 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine which produces 83 bhp with a peak torque of 114 Nm. The oil burner with 1.2L capacity churns out 75 bhp and 190 Nm on tap. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual gearbox along with 5-speed AMT for both petrol and diesel.
