This is an international bilateral cricket series for blind men. The event is being held in partnership with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and the Cricket Association for the Blind in India. The goal is to raise awareness and support people with disabilities, especially the visually impaired. In the first edition of this series, the Indian Men’s Blind Cricket Team played against Sri Lanka and won. This year, the Indian team will play against the South Africa Men’s Blind Cricket Team. The matches will be held from May 12 to May 16, 2025. The venue is the Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium in Muddenahalli, Bengaluru.
This series is important because it gives blind players a chance to compete internationally. It helps in their physical and social growth. It also shows how sports can bring change and promote inclusion. By supporting such events, organizations aim to create a society where everyone gets equal opportunities. The Samarth Championship is not just about cricket. It is about making space for everyone, no matter their abilities. The upcoming matches will highlight the talent of blind cricketers.
