Hyundai Verna Facelift

Hyundai has announced that the Verna facelift will come with Blue-Link Connected Car technology that will have as many as 45 features.

The Hyundai Verna facelift is just around the corner. Hyundai even teased us with some images of the India-spec Verna sometime ago and now, they have confirmed that the updated Verna will even feature the upgraded Blue Link connected-car technology.

As of now, the Blue-Link connected technology is only featured in the Venue and the Elantra. The upcoming Creta will also feature Blue-Link and now the Verna facelift as well. In the Verna, the Blue-Link technology will come with as many as 45 features which includes voice recognition that can be used to control a wider variety of in-car functions such as making phone calls, tracking live cricket scores, getting navigation assistance and weather updates.ย

The Blue Link suite also includes remote engine start-stop and operation of the climate control system (for the automatic variants only), real-time vehicle tracking and geo-fencing, among others. The Blue-Link on the Verna will however have lesser features than that on the Creta. For example, the sunroof and ventilated seats cannot be operated by voice commands. The Creta also features an air purifier that can be controlled remotely, something thatโ€™s not available on the Verna facelift.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift receives plenty of visual updates. The headlights have been reshaped and are now LED units with new DRLs. The face gets a new grille with lots of chrome treatment and the bumper has been redesigned as well which looks a lot similar to the one on the Elantra. The bumper even gets a brushed-aluminium insert for the lip. When viewed in the profile, the Verna facelift does not sport any significant changes except for the new dual-tone alloy wheels. At the back, the sedan gets a revised tail lamp and a restyled bumper with again some chrome treatment and a subtle faux diffuser.

The sedan will get a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This 1.0L turbo-petrol engine produces 120bhp in the Venue, Grand i10 Nios and the Verna and we expect it to remain same for the Verna as well. Apart from this new 1.0L engine, the facelifted car will get new 1.5 liter petrol and diesel engines as well. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard with the engines. For the automatic variants, the petrol engine will come with a CVT gearbox while the diesel engine can be had with a 6-speed torque-convertor automatic.

On the inside, the Hyundai Verna facelift is expected to get a digital instrument cluster and a larger, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Hyundai Verna faceliftโ€™s price is likely to go up by a fair bit; the pre-facelift Vernaโ€™s price ranges from Rs 8.18-14.08 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). ย
