Hyundai Verna to offer new automatic variants on petrol and diesel engines

Hyundai Verna will soon get a new petrol automatic SX+ trim along with an automatic diesel SX(O). Both will be among the high-end variants in the lineup. The prices of Hyundai Verna start off from Rs 7.92 Lakhs up to Rs 13.05 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices).ย 

To get some benefit of the ongoing festive season, Hyundai is planning to add 2 new automatic variants to the lineup of Verna. A document has been leaked online which shows the new AT variants with the features that they get. The pricing details and launch date are not out yet. The C-segment sedan received a major upgrade last year, which made it sportier and sharper. As of now, the sedan receives competition from Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Toyota Yaris.

As per the leaked photo, Hyundai Verna will get a new Petrol AT SX+ trim and a diesel AT SX(O) trim. The SX+ trim gets additional features including smart key, push-button start-stop, Wireless charging, and smart trunk.

The SX(O) AT gets Wireless charging and telescopic steering. While the SX(O) diesel AT will be the range-topping trim, petrol AT SX+ might be placed just below the top-end SX(O) trim.

Both the new variants will get premium features such as electric sunroof, projector headlamps, diamond cut alloy wheels, cruise control, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Ventilated Seats, smart Trunk and more.

The safety features on both the variant of Hyundai Verna will include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, auto Headlamps, Rear Parking Sensors, rearview camera, and height adjustable front seats.

The new variants of Hyundai Verna will continue with the same engines. The lineup has total 3 engines, a 1.4 Litre petrol, a 1.6 petrol and a 1.6 diesel. The 1.4 petrol puts out 100 BHP on tap, the 1.6 petrol puts out 123 BHP and the diesel one puts out 128 BHP. The SX+ and the SX (O) are going to come with the 1.6-litre engines in the respective guises.

Except for the 1.4 Litre petrol unit, both the other engines receive 6-speed MT along with an optional AT unit.

Verna is the most feature equipped sedan in its segment, easily beating Yaris as well as Honda City. In this segment, Maruti Ciaz is the real winner, followed by Verna at the second place.

The prices of Verna start from Rs 7.92 Lakhs up to Rs 12.85 Lakhs for the petrol variants. The diesel variants start off at Rs 9.62 Lakhs going up to Rs 13.05 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices Delhi). The petrol one might be priced around Rs 10,000-15000 more than the petrol SX(O) variant. The diesel one might be priced Rs 1 Lakhs more than the diesel SX(O) variant.
