Indians are known for their spirit of jugaad and passion for sunroofs and this is what happens when we combine these two.
This has to be India’s first autorickshaw with an electric sunroof. The love of Indians for sunroofs in their cars is no secret. In fact, the largest carmaker in the country, Maruti Suzuki, decided to give in and started offering sunroofs in their latest vehicles despite announcing that they will not do it. One could easily infer the love Indians have for sunroofs in cars from such activities. The reason could perhaps be that they associate sunroofs with luxury and opulence because it was a feature exclusive to high-end cars until a few years ago.

Autorickshaw with Electric Sunroof
This post has been shared by adultsociety on Instagram. It captures a video clip where an autorickshaw driver shows the functioning of the electric sunroof attached to the vehicle. Autorickshaws form the backbone of urban mobility in most cities in the country. But we don’t associate them with luxury and indulging amenities at all. However, some people have varied opinions about that as seen in this video. The driver is clearly obsessed with his auto as he has spent significant money to decorate it and equip it with the latest features.

There is a dedicated switch installed near the handlebar of the auto which operates the electric sunroof. The driver displays this by opening and closing it time and again. One can also see some auxiliary lights installed in the auto to make the interior attractive. We can totally understand if people would love to travel in this auto just because of the sheer appeal it commands. The description of the video indicates that this has been reported from Rajasthan.

Spirit of Jugaad
We have to appreciate the spirit of jugaad that is prevalent in India. It refers to the ability to accomplish any task by any means necessary. Most of these include low-cost solutions that arise from thinking outside the box. That is what we admire about the people of our land. We will find a way to achieve just about anything if we put our minds and souls into it. Jugaad could be for mundane activities or even high-level sophisticated scenarios.
