The main reason for this is the sheer practicality and roominess MPVs offer in addition to great ride comfort for the passengers. There are varied products in the MPV segments making it accessible for every type of customer. Let us take a detailed look at how well the MPVs performed on the sales chart in June 2022.

June 2022 MPV Sales
- Maruti Ertiga continued to rule the charts with 10,423 sales in June. The total number of Ertiga MPVs sold from January to June this year stood at an impressive 68,992. This makes a market share of 40.6%. Its premium version, the XL6 sold 3,336 units in June and 20,176 in the first 6 months. This constitutes a market share of 11.84%.

MPV Sales Analysis June 2022
- Kia Carens was a close second on this sales report for June with 7,895 units and 30,953 in the first six months comprising an 18.7% market share.
- Toyota Innova Crysta is one of the most successful MPVs in the country. It still continues to sell strongly with 6,795 units sold in June and 30,551 units from the January-June period. The veteran MPV has a 17.94% market share.
- Renault Triber is the most affordable 7-seater MPV in the market. In June 2022, it sold 3,346 units and in the Jan-Jun period, Renault was able to sell 17,046 units grabbing a healthy 10.01% market share.
- Kia Carnival is a premium MPV that sits just above the Toyota Innova Crysta in our market. Commanding a premium means that the sales numbers are not that high. This is confirmed by the sales in June which stood at just 285 units. In fact, from January to June this year, Kia only managed to dispatch 1,847 units which translates to a mere 1.08% market share.
- Mahindra Marazzo continues to be rejected by the market. In June this year, Mahindra were only able to sell 124 units of the Ertiga-rival. In fact, in the time period between January and June, there were only 845 Marazzo MPVs sold making for an abysmal 0.50% market share.
