Kia has gathered an impressive 21,000 bookings in under 4 months for the Carens and Carens Clavis EV. That is quite considerable since these are not some entry-level cars. That is a testament to the fact that the customers value these automobiles and don’t mind spending heavily where they find value. While the Carens has been around in our market for a couple of years now, the Carens Clavis EV is a new product. It embodies the global design philosophy from Kia. Interestingly, it has resonated well with the potential buyers right from its launch a couple of months ago.
Kia Carens and Carens Clavis EV Bag 21,000 Bookings
As per the details in the press release, Kia received over 20,000 bookings for the Carens and over 1,000 bookings for the Carens Clavis EV. These are some healthy numbers and represent Kia’s growing momentum in our market. Furthermore, the fact that its EVs have also started doing well is a clear indication of things to come going forward. These cars are known for being highly feature-laden with all sorts of tech, connectivity, safety and convenience amenities. That is something which really attracts new-age car buyers. In general, Kia is known for offering affordable luxury across its portfolio.
The Carens Clavis is created for Indian families who want a mix of comfort, style, and practicality. It combines the toughness of an SUV, the spaciousness of an MPV, and the flexibility of a family car. This makes it suitable for daily city use as well as long journeys. Inside, it offers features like sliding and reclining second-row seats, one-touch electric tumble for easy folding, and a unique Boss Mode for quick third-row access. The cabin includes modern touches such as dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays for infotainment and driver information, an eight-speaker Bose system, dual dashcam, ambient lighting, and a switch to swap between climate control and infotainment functions. Kia Carens retail between Rs 11.50 lakh and Rs 21.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
The Carens Clavis EV is Kia’s first electric vehicle made in India. It provides the same space and convenience as the ICE version while focusing on efficiency. Powered by a 171 PS motor with 255 Nm torque, it supports both city drives and road trips. Buyers can choose between a 51.4 kWh battery offering 490 km range and a 42 kWh battery with 404 km range. Fast charging allows a 10–80% charge in about 39 minutes with a 100 kW DC charger. Safety remains central, with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, ESC, rear occupant alert, and a 360° camera across the lineup. The Carens Clavis EV starts at Rs 17.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 24.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
