The new electric iteration of the Kia Carens Clavis has finally been launched in India

In this post, we compare the new Kia Carens Clavis EV and the BYD eMax7 electric MPVs on the basis of specs, features and price. The electric MPV space in our market is still nascent. There aren’t all that many options for the potential buyers. In fact, the Carens Clavis EV marks the first made-in-India electric car for the Korean auto giant. That is a huge milestone and indicates where things are headed. On the other hand, BYD is also slowly grabbing a large market share for itself in the premium EV space. For now, let us check out which one comes out on top in this thorough comparison.

Kia Carens Clavis EV vs BYD eMax7 – Price

Let us commence this comparison post with the prices. The newly launched Kia Carens Clavis EV starts at Rs 17.99 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 24.49 lakh, ex-showroom. These are some attractive prices. On the other hand, the BYD eMax7 ranges between Rs 26.90 lakh and Rs 29.90 lakh, ex-showroom. Evidently, the Kia electric SUV has a huge edge in this regard.

My View

Choosing between these two can be quite tricky for potential customers. Nevertheless, it mostly comes down to the budget. Both these electric MPVs boast modern cabins, latest tech, connectivity, convenience functionalities, along with decent performance and range. However, the price remains the key distinguishing factor between the two. Therefore, you can experience both of these in the flesh before making a decision according to your budget.
