So, KTM has finally launched the new RC125 in India. The baby RC has been speculated for the past few weeks, and is now priced at Rs 1.47 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The bookings for the KTMRC125 have commenced across the dealerships, for a token of Rs 5,000. This makes it costlier than the Duke 125 by Rs 17,000. The on-road prices would go up to Rs 1.6-1.7 Lakhs easily.
With this price, it is Rs 6,000 costlier than the Yamaha R15 V3 (Price Rs 1.41 Lakhs) and Rs 8,000 more expensive than the Pulsar RS200 (Rs 1.39 Lakhs).
The RC125 is a 125cc motorcycle and competes with a 150cc and a 200cc motorcycle. Both have faired designs and R15 V3 is known for its great performance with its small 150cc engine.
KTM RC125 gets a 124.6cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine, that produces 14.5 BHP and 12 Nm of peak torque. The engine specs are the same as of the Duke 125, but the tuning is likely revised. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
If we see, the power is nearly 4.5 BHP lesser than R15 V3 and the torque by 2 Nm. Of course, R15 V3 gets a slightly bigger engine, but with this price, the R15 V3 will be a cheaper option.
For suspension, it continues with 41mm USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the back. Disc brakes at both the ends with a single-channel ABS provide the stopping power.
It is available in Black and Orange Colour as of now. It was teased in that colour as well. Features onboard include dual projector headlamps, split seats, clip-on handlebars rear view mirrors on the front cowl, fully digital speedometer and much more. The deliveries of the motorcycle will commence by the mid-July 2019.
