The electric division of Mahindra is currently firing on all cylinders
In an open conversation with the Mahindra Electric SUVs Business Head, Reeti Nageshri, we tried to get the answers to some of the burning questions with regard to the future plans of the EV division. Since last year, the two electric sub-brands from Mahindra – XEV and BE – have been demonstrating exciting products, including the XEV 9e, XEV 9S and BE 6. In fact, the XEV 9e and BE 6 have posted an unbelievable 30,000 sales within just 7 months of operations. Q. How many more Born Electric SUVs can we expect from Mahindra in the near future?
A. I think, let us keep the suspense on. We will keep on giving you more surprises, don’t worry.
Q. What is Mahindra doing about the charging infrastructure in India?
A. We will install 250 ultra-fast (180 kW) charging stations in India by 2027. These will ensure that your EV gets charged before you stop for a quick tea break.
Q. What are the most loved features on Mahindra Electric Origin SUVs as per internal study or customer feedback?
A. I have been hearing about the music system from the customers. This is the 1400W 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos for a professional sound experience. Customers can’t stop talking about it.
Q. Which is your favourite Mahindra Electric SUV? And what do you drive currently?
A. I love the Mahindra XEV 9S. Currently, I drive the BE 6 in Firestorm Orange colour. However, I also love the new Formula E version of the BE 6.
Q. What are the main features which are the winners on the new Mahindra XEV 9S?
A. I think there are just so many features that it is impossible to cover in a minute. It is loaded with performance, range, features, space, tech, etc. I can’t cover it in a minute.
