This vlog has been created by DCV Expeditions on YouTube. It is a popular channel that features content around snow drives in the harsh winters of the Himalayas. This time around, the vlogger finds himself in Kaza, Spiti in Himachal Pradesh at around -22 degrees Celsius. There is thick snow everywhere and the off-roading SUVs like Mahindra Thar, Isuzu V-Cross, and Mitsubishi Pajero (old model) are seen in Kaza. Interestingly, the Thar starts instantly in snow conditions despite low temperatures.

Unfortunately, one of the members of the team was feeling altitude sickness. As per the information in the video, his oxygen levels dropped below 40. A doctor was called who had to be brought in Thar since no other car would start and there was a snow avalanche blocking the road. He treated the man, gave him some injections, put the oxygen cylinder and advised the team to take him to a lower altitude as soon as possible. The convoy commenced their arduous journey amidst snow-covered roads.

On the way, cars were waiting for the JCB to clear the road. That is when they saw a local Maruti Alto. They were left stunned by the fact that it was able to traverse across such extreme weather and road conditions. They acknowledged the fact that driving daily on such terrain creates unique skills in the locals where they are able to drive even a basic car like Alto without any issues. On the other hand, the team has some of the most capable off-roaders in their fleet and is still struggling. Make sure to not go to such places if you are not experienced. You can’t simply rely on your car alone.
