Mahindra Thar Roxx has done immensely well on the sales charts in our market ever since its launch back in 2024
Mahindra & Mahindra has officially introduced the Thar Roxx Star Edition in India, expanding the popular off-roading SUV’s lineup with a design-forward special edition aimed at lifestyle and style-conscious buyers. The new variant carries an introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹16.85 lakh and will be offered in limited numbers as part of the initial rollout.
A Style-Centric Addition to the Thar Roxx Family
While the core mechanicals of the Thar Roxx remain untouched, the Star Edition places heavy emphasis on visual and comfort upgrades that set it apart from the standard trims. The exterior adopts a more aggressive and premium stance with a piano black front grille and 19-inch piano black alloy wheels, complemented by the new Citrine Yellow paint option alongside existing shades like Tango Red, Everest White and Stealth Black. A special Star Edition badge on the C-pillar further distinguishes this variant.
Inside the cabin, the Star Edition elevates ambience with all-black leatherette upholstery featuring suede accents. Comfort and convenience features include ventilated front seats, a sliding armrest, and 60:40 split rear seats with recline function. The SUV also gets dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and electrically folding ORVMs as part of its comprehensive equipment package.

Tech and Safety Package
On the technology front, the Star Edition is equipped with a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster, and Adrenox connected car technology with Alexa integration. A nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system and a surround-view camera add to the premium experience. Safety features include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, auto-dimming IRVM, e-call and SOS functions, backed by a 5-star Bharat NCAP-rated structure.
Proven Powertrains Carry Forward
Under the hood, the Thar Roxx Star Edition retains the familiar engine options from the regular lineup: a 2.0-litre mStallion TGDi petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, both paired with rear-wheel drive and available with manual and automatic gearbox choices depending on the variant.
Editor’s Note
With its blend of aesthetic upgrades, creature comforts and proven performance, the Thar Roxx Star Edition reinforces Mahindra’s strategy of widening the appeal of the Thar range — particularly among buyers who prioritise style and feature content without straying far from the core lifestyle SUV ethos. – Rohit Khurana, Founder
