Mahindra XUV300 Electric Driving Range Confirmed – 300 km On A Single Charge

It will be India’s first homegrown electric SUV. The XUV300 electric will compete with the Tata Nexon EV. The former will continue with the same set of features and design as in the conventional XUV300.

Mahindra bringing in the electric XUV300 is no big news but what’s new in this about the revealed driving range that the brand has confirmed. The details were out from the European media recently.

The driving range of the Mahindra XUV300 electric sticks to 300 km. It will compete with other all-electric driving cars like MG eZS, Tata Nexon electric and Maruti WagonR electric. The car is expected to be seen at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The electric XUV300 will be the second vehicle from its passenger vehicle segment after the e2O. The SUV will use the same styling, design updates and interiors like that found in regular XUV300.

Mahindra XUV300 battery details are yet unknown but it is likely to get two lithium-ion batteries. And it is too early to comment on the what electric motor will be considered. Reports also suggest that the eXUV300 will be available in short and long range.

The eXUV300 will share most of the features and design from the regular XUV300 which is available in the market right now. Features such as electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, all-wheel disc brakes, leather upholstery, LED projector headlamps, LED Daytime Running Lights are some of the features that the upcoming car will follow.

The batteries will be coordinated in with the collaboration of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and LG Chem’s. The latter will develop a unique cell specially designed for the car and will also supply Lithium-ion cells based on nickel manganese cobalt chemistry with high energy density.

The electric XUV300 is expected to see a price bracket of Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Talking about the homegrown SUVs then Tata is also prepping up to bring the electric Nexon by next year. The eNexon has been spotted many times on the Indian roads. We expect some changes in the exterior and interiors.
