The all-electric Mahindra XUV300 will add to the clean energy vehicles portfolio of the homegrown automaker in addition to the KUV100 EV and the eVerito.

The Indian automotive industry must have started to warm up to the idea of budget electric vehicle but Mahindra has been at the forefront of clean energy transportation in our country since a very long time. The homegrown automaker already has the e2o Plus in its portfolio available for the generation population while the eVerito currently acts as its offering in the fleet vehicle segments.

Though the KUV100 is likely to make its debut by the end of this year itself, the Mahindra XUV300 EV will arrive sometime during the first half of 2020. When the latter goes on sale in the Indian market, it will have the option of two lithium-ion battery packs to choose from. It is however too early to comment on the electric motor set-up that this compact SUV will offer.

Ahead of the launch of its all-electric variant, the Mahindra XUV300 is going to launch in India with conventional power i.e. its petrol and diesel engine options. Though the exact launch date is not confirmed, the automaker has confirmed that the launch is going to take place sometime during the first half of February this year.

Measuring under 4-meters in length, the Mahindra XUV300 is going to fall in the sub-compact SUV segment. This will make it compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the Tata Nexon. With this, its prices are expected to fall in-between the range of INR 8 lakh to INR 12 lakh. Recent communication released by Mahindra suggests that the top-end variant, which is going to come with features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, 7-airbags and sunroof is likely to pitch against some of the variants of the Hyundai Creta.
