It was a month ago when Mahindra & Mahindra announced the popular Mahindra XUV500 for the European market. With the success of the XUV500 in India the company is extremely confident and which is why it chose the car as its first global vehicle. Now after a month long wait the car is all set to go on sale in Europe.
Briefing you about the European spec model, the XUV500 is powered by the same 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine that puts out 140 BHP of max power at 3750 RPM and peak power of 330 Nm between 1600 and 2800 RPM. The European model features a 6 speed manual transmission. While there are a few variant options available with the XUV in India, the European market will only get the top of the line W8 variant with front and all wheel drive options. The engine powering the car is compliant with Euro 5 norms and the all wheel drive and front wheel drive models emit 173 g/km and 186 g/km of CO2 respectively.
The XUV is quite feature rich as we all know and the European version is no exception. Some of the highlighting features are dual airbags, ABS and EBD, swiveling projector headlamps, voice command, Bluetooth connectivity, multi function touch screen display with navigation etc.
Meanwhile another interesting news from this now-global major is which is Mahindra Group’s other subsidiary Ssangyong has launched the Rexton W in South Africa. Earlier the company was selling Korando and Actyon Sport double cab pickup and the Rexton W comes as an important addition. The Rexton W is powered by a 2.7 litre bi-turbo diesel engine which produces 162 BHP of max power. The car is available in both manual and automatic transmission versions.
The Ssangyong Rexton premium SUV will be launched in India on 17th of October.
