Note that these are special prices for the first 40,000 deliveries. The top trim bears a price tag of Rs 24.11 lakh, ex-showroom. On top of that, if you wish to get the AWD avatar, you will need to shell out an additional Rs 2.45 lakh. The deliveries for the AX7, AX7T and AX7L will commence on January 14, 2026, while the lower AX, AX3 and AX5 will get delivered from April 2026, onwards. For now, here are the 5 things which we can confirm the new SUV will boast:
- Radical New Front – While many people were expecting the XUV 7XO to look like the XEV 9S, but that is not the case. The Indian automobile giant has designed a distinct front fascia with a new grille, redesigned bumper, pixel LEDs, LED DRLs, dual-barrel LED headlamps and unique fog lamps. In essence, the entire front section is new. On the sides, the SUV will get new alloy wheels, while the tail end will bear a slight tweak to the LED taillamps. Overall, the SUV will carry noticeable changes to the exterior styling.
- Triple Screen and Harmon Kardon System – The most inviting aspect of the cabin of the upcoming SUV will be the triple screen layout, something we have seen in the XEV 9e and XEV 9S. That has been a key amenity from Mahindra in its latest breed of vehicles. In all fairness, this ensures that the SUV looks ultra-modern and opulent. Additionally, the in-cabin entertainment will be taken care of by the Harmon Kardon system.
- 540° ‘Drone’ Camera – Accentuating the safety and convenience, the new Mahindra XUV 7XO will also get a 540° ‘drone’ camera, which will aid parking and driving in urban environments with lots of traffic around. Also, in a car of this size, surround view cameras certainly offer peace of mind, particularly during those times when the driver is alone in the car.
- Level 2+ ADAS – Highlighting the active safety prowess of the Mahindra XUV 7XO, there will be Level 2+ ADAS, which is a notch higher than what the XUV700 has. Therefore, people driving on properly marked roads can safely rely on the system, even though manual control not never be compromised. ADAS is only meant to aid the driver, not replace him/her.
- Boss Mode and Electric Front Seats – Finally, we know that the new SUV will get electric front seats. That is something we have come to expect in a vehicle at this price point. However, taking things even further is the Boss Mode, wherein the passengers sitting in the second row can easily push the button to move the front passenger seat forward to liberate more legroom. It is a convenience feature which a lot of potential buyers will appreciate.

Originally published on 20.01.2025 – The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will be called the 7XO, keeping in line with its latest nomenclature similar to the 3XO. At present, the XUV700 is the flagship ICE model on sale from the Indian automobile giant in our market. It has been a popular product for a long time. However, it is due for a facelift. Interestingly, the facelift model will bear distinct modifications in comparison to the current version not only aesthetically, but in terms of powertrains as well. For now, let us take a look at the details of this case.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift to be Called 7XO
As per our sources, the new XUV700 will be called 7XO. Furthermore, it will possess the fascia of the XEV 7e which was spotted testing earlier. In fact, a few weeks ago, the trademark for the SUV was leaked which showcased the front fascia. It will include a massive LED light strip which will run the width of the SUV. It will culminate into the 7-shaped LED DRLs on either side. The main LED headlamp cluster will be encapsulated within on the edges of the face. Since it is an EV, there are no grilles at the front. Instead, it gets a completely sealed-off section with rugged elements a skid plate. On the sides, the silhouette is similar to the current version and the case is similar at the rear too. Still, the front fascia will be enough to distinguish the two.
Interior and Features
While the exact details about the specifications are not announced yet, it is clear that it will get that triple-screen layout we saw in the XEV 9e. Apart from that, we know that Mahindra likes to equip its vehicles with the utmost comfort and convenience amenities. Hence, we can expect all the latest bells and whistles to pamper the customers. The quality of materials inside the cabin will be high and the overall appearance will ooze a much more premium vibe, as mentioned by our source.

My View
It is clear that Mahindra is updating the XUV700 thoroughly. However, the fact that we will now even get an electric iteration of the SUV is exciting. People will have all sorts of options to choose from. With the ICE guise, it will most likely retain the powertrains which is not a bad thing at all. Therefore, the Mahindra XUV700 facelift (7XO) will surely be much more enticing in terms of exterior, interior and the option of an electric avatar. Let us keep an eye out for more details as the launch nears.
