The waiting period for the recently introduced update of the Maruti Ertiga has gone up to a staggering 18-20 weeks which roughly equals to 4.5 months.

Maruti Suzuki had launched the second generation update for the Ertiga MPV in India last year during the month of November last year. With this update, the budget segment MPV came in an all-new avatar due to a complete overhaul of its aesthetics as well as a majority of its mechanical components.

With prices starting at INR 7.44 lakhs and the top-end variant retailing at INR 10.90 lakhs, this vehicle comes across as a very good option for someone who is looking for a comfortable, feature loaded and practical 7-seater family vehicle.

Hence it seems quite obvious and rather unsurprising to see that with the launch of the improved third generation iteration of the Ertiga, its demand has soared quite high. And as is the case with all the recently introduced Maruti Suzuki’s, the new Ertiga too now commands a staggering waiting period.

Currently, for the manual base variants of the Maruti Ertiga, one has to wait for 14-18 weeks post booking. On the other hand, for the manual top-end variants, the waiting period currently stands at 18-20 weeks.

The new Maruti Ertiga is based on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT platform which not only reduces the overall weight of the vehicle but has also helped in increasing the MPV’s wheelbase in comparison to the older generation model. With this generation update, the Ertiga also received an all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine is now available as standard across the trims with Suzuki’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology.

The introduction of a new engine along with the lightweight chassis has resulted in the increase of the Maruti Ertiga’s fuel-efficiency figures. The changes in the car’s aesthetics make it look more modern and premium than before. It now comes with its own unique identity and does not seem like an extended version of the Dzire family. Similar is the case with the interiors as well.

The new Ertiga also features a better equipment list as well as improved safety features. Right from the base variant onwards you gets ABS with EBD along with rear parking sensors, and ISOFIC child seat anchorage points.
