We have yet another Maruti Jimny-Based G-Wagon replica. Jimny owners are flocking to the aftermarket to make their SUVs look like the iconic G-Wagon. From one perspective, the Jimmy distinguishes itself as an economical, durable, and lightweight off-road SUV. With a heritage of more than fifty years in the international market, it has recently made its debut in the Indian market with its fourth iteration, introducing an innovative 5-door designโ€”a departure from its previous models. Conversely, the G-Wagon ranks among the finest luxury off-road vehicles on a global scale. Here are the details of this latest instance.

Maruti Jimny-Based G-Wagon Replica

This modification comes from autostarke on Instagram from Kerala. At first glance, you would barely be able to tell that this is not the original G-Wagon but a humble Jimny. The final product is finished in blue colour with a prominent black grille at the front with red inserts just like the AMG version of the iconic Mercedes. In addition to that, there are round headlamps, a rugged bumper, and an upright stance reminiscent of the legendary G-Wagon. As a matter of fact, there is also the trademark Tri-star logo instead of the Suzuki logo. The turn indicators are mounted on the extreme edges of the bonnet in a retro style.

The side profile gives away the true credentials of its origins. The wheel arches are prominent and the alloy wheels are stylish but they belong to the Jimny. Interestingly, the bootlid still wears the Jimny nameplate. Also, there are horizontal LED taillamps on the rear bumper. Essentially, the side and rear sections are almost identical to the regular Jimny. Moreover, one even gets a glimpse of the interior layout. There is a sporty red upholstery indicating that the car modification house has even customised the cabin. Hence, this is a comprehensive customization. The designer is calling it the ‘G-Mini’.

Another G-Wagon

This next replica comes from Modified Hub on YouTube, There is a Jimny which bears all the styling elements of the G-Wagon. This includes things like a Tri-star logo at the front, rugged bumper, G-Wagon grille, bonnet-mounted turn indicators, headlamp washer, auxiliary LED lights on the roof, chunky 17-inch alloy wheels with Brabus insignia, side steps, modified exhaust note under the side step on the right side, V8 bi-turbo badge on the fenders, LED taillamps on the rear bumper and more.

What We Think

We understand and appreciate the excitement of people who want to customize their vehicles for a unique look. However, it is vital to know that many car modifications don’t follow India’s laws. This could lead to trouble with the police. Because of this, we strongly advise against making big changes to your vehicle. If you still want to customize it, talk to your local Regional Transport Office (RTO) first. If your changes are allowed, they can be noted on your vehicle’s registration papers. Doing this will help you avoid problems with the law in the future.
