Maruti Suzuki has come out with yet another special edition of its car. This time the Wagon R gets the special treatment with the ‘Madhavan Signature Edition’. Many national and regional newspapers have run advertisement about the Maruti Wagon R Madhavan Signature Edition, but the company has not formally sent us a press release as of now.
It is important to note that R. Madhavan is the brand ambassador for the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R. The Signature Edition comes about 4 weeks after the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Stingray, which is the youth oriented variant of the car. This special edition variant seems to have been announced to keep people interested in the car in lieu of the upcoming festive season.
Price
The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R Madhavan Edition is price at Rs. 4.37 Lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.ย This car is based on the non-ABS Lxi variant of the Wagon R, and the extras add about Rs. 20,000 to the price.
The car carries the signature of South Indian film superstar R. Madhavanure on the front doors and at the rear. The signature edition also dons new body graphics, Kenwood double-din audio system with USB and AUX support, rear parking sensor with digital display, faux leather seat covers and steering wheel cover, new door sill guard, full wheel caps, Bluetooth kit and a rear spoiler.
According to the newspaper advertisements, the cost of the add-ons is about Rs 32,000 but are being offered for Rs. 20,000. Apart from this, you will also receive discount vouchers of ย Rs. 5,100. If you are planning to opt for a loan, you will get a rebate of 0.5% on the interest rate (*conditions apply). Last but not least, if you are lucky, the company may pay for your holiday (*Lots of conditions apply).
Though the special edition Wagon R gets some extra equipment, we are not impressed with this attempt by the company at garnering sales.
